Rocketinfo Inc. (OTCBB:RKTI), a leading international real-time business news search engine and infomediary, today announced the release of the world's first desktop news search application, the Rocket Desktop 1.1.
The free Rocket Desktop (available for BETA download from www.rocketnews.com) is a lightweight application that provides a convenient, "always-on" way to search for the latest news from the thousands of sources in the Rocketinfo news database.

The Rocket Desktop gives users the ability to create and save searches for up-to-the-minute news from today, the past week or the past month. Results include the article title and a brief excerpt, and articles can be viewed in their entirety and emailed or bookmarked with a single click. Results are sorted using Rocketinfo Ranking technology to ensure end-user accuracy and relevance. The Rocket Desktop can be downloaded and installed in seconds. When not in use it appears as an icon in the user's system tray, ready to be launched with a single click.
A key feature of the Rocket Desktop is the ability to access content from the dynamic and comprehensive Rocketinfo current news database. The database spans over 16,000 current news sources, including national and city newspapers, specialty publications, newswires, trade journals and interest- and industry-specific websites. These sources are constantly scanned to ensure that Rocket Desktop users can view up-to-the-minute news on any topic. Search results feature targeted contextual ads from Kanoodle.
