Hopefully what will conspire to reverse the down trend is the rm_CDS 6000 chassis. Looks like Rim provides everything now and it is plug and play. Hopefully carriers will be more apt to test now that they don’t have to find a 3rd party line card and chassis to plug the chip into.
Also I haven't heard much in a long time on the SIP integrated into the chip. I see they have a data sheet on that also. That would be huge to incorporate SIP into the DSL modem. One less box to have to plug into your router. If they could also incorporate a wireless router into the DSL modem that would be the perfect world. One box instead of 3.
