SHLP News TigerDirect Inc. Joins Fight to Protect Children from Online Predators with SearchHelp's 'Sentry(TM)' Suite of Parental Control Security Software
SYOSSET, N.Y. & MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SearchHelp, Inc., (OTCBB:SHLP), a developer of award-winning, web-based
child security software, and TigerDirect Inc., a subsidiary of Systemax
Inc. (NYSE:SYX), a leading computer products retailer, today jointly
announced they have entered into a new product distribution agreement.
Under terms of the agreement, SearchHelp’s
full-line of ‘Sentry’
child security software will be featured in TigerDirect's product
catalog, distributed to approximately 1.8 million customers on a monthly
basis. TigerDirect’s customers can now also
purchase the software through its online store (www.tigerdirect.com),
which receives on average over 23 million unique hits per month, and at
its retail locations in Miami, Chicago and North Carolina as well as in
the company’s three Canadian stores.
"Almost every day, we see disturbing news reports about children being
exposed to inappropriate Internet content, and worse yet, being
solicited by online predators," said Russell J. Strunk, TigerDirect's
executive vice president of marketing. "We applaud SearchHelp’s
dedication to producing innovative, state-of-the-art software security
solutions to help parents and those concerned about the safety of
children, and are pleased to make these important, much-needed products
available to TigerDirect’s customers."
Bill Bozsnyak, CEO of SearchHelp, Inc., added: “TigerDirect
is a major new distribution partner for SearchHelp. We are pleased that
TigerDirect, one of the leading retailers of software and technology
solutions in the world, is now selling SearchHelp’s
software alongside products from the industry’s
top companies, and we find TigerDirect’s
support of our efforts to provide Internet security for children
especially gratifying.”
SearchHelp’s award-wining ‘Sentry’
line of parental control security software provides real-time alerts and
information, allowing parents to pro-actively monitor their children’s
online activities no matter where they happen to be. This is a
significant advance over more traditional passive “block-and-filter”
computer technology that merely limits a child’s
exposure to objectionable content including pornography.
With SearchHelp’s ‘Sentry’
products, parents receive instant email or visual alerts on their
computers or PDAs and SMS text messages to their cell phones when
questionable online activity occurs. These include suspicious instant
messages or conversations requesting private or personal information as
well as attempts to access inappropriate or pornographic material. With ‘Sentry
Remote,’ parents can see all activities
conducted on the child’s computer and
directly interact with their children in real-time. If necessary, the
parent can quickly terminate the application or lock down the computer.
