SHLP News SearchHelp Receives Endorsement from the Child Abuse Unit-SPCC
SYOSSET, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SearchHelp, Inc., (OTCBB: SHLP), a leading developer of award-winning,
web-based child security software, has received the endorsement of the
Long Island Division of the New York State Child Abuse Unit (CAU-SPCC).
CAU-SPCC is a child protective, state chartered, not-for-profit law
enforcement agency that works solely to enforce the laws that pertain to
protecting minors and empowered by the New York State Division of
Criminal Justice Service to prosecute or assist in the prosecution of
any acts, including on the Internet, resulting in the mental, emotional
or physical harm of a child. CAU works closely with the district
attorney's office on local cases and with U.S. Customs and the FBI on
state, national and even international cases.
Kevin Bracken, Director of Advocacy and Fundraising, CAU-SPCC, said: “We
actively search the Internet and its chat rooms in an attempt to locate
and prosecute online sexual pedophiles. Parents must also take an active
role in helping their children use the Internet safely and we welcome
the efforts of SearchHelp to provide the tools they need to protect
their children from harm. Parental control software, such as SearchHelp’s
Sentry products are very important to have on any computer being used by
a child or young adult.”
Bill Bozsnyak, CEO of SearchHelp, Inc., added: “The
CAU-SPCC is on the front lines in the fight to keep our children safe
from online predators. We are pleased to receive their endorsement and
look forward to working closely with CAU-SPCC to educate parents about
Internet dangers that threaten their young children.”
With SearchHelp’s “Sentry”
products, parents receive instant email on their computers or PDAs and
SMS text messages to their cell phones when questionable online activity
occurs, allowing parents to pro-actively monitor their children’s
online activities no matter where they happen to be. These include
suspicious instant messages or conversations requesting private or
personal information as well as attempts to access inappropriate or
pornographic material.
The complete line of “Sentry”
child protection products is currently available at nationwide retailers
including CompUSA, OfficeMax, Fry’s
Electronics, TigerDirect, Meijer Stores, Duane Reade, and MicroCenter
stores, or online at www.searchhelp.com.
In addition, the complete line of “Sentry”
child protection products will soon be available at the CAU web site www.childabuseunit.org,
with a portion of the proceeds going to CAU. For more details, call
