Simtrol Inc. (SMRL.OB) Weekly Recap 8/15/08

Simtrol Inc. (SMRL.OB) Recently Announced Partnership with Promethean Inc.
Thursday, August 14th, 2008

Simtrol Incorporated, an innovative developer of device management software, recently announced an exclusive partnership with Promethean Incorporated, a global leader in interactive educational solutions. The partnership will be mutually beneficial to both companies, allowing Promethean to integrate Simtrol’s device management software into their multifunctional electronic device control systems. The Activclassroom technology allows the operator, typically a teacher, to effectively and efficiently manage all classroom equipment such as PC’s, projectors, document cameras, and other devices, from a central location.

The real winners in this alliance are the taxpayers funding schools who will get to take advantage of the increased efficiencies of this device. The partnership will make teachers more efficient as they save time and energy to more efficiently teach children with the benefits of electronic media. Teaching with the assistance of electronic media has been proven to engage and motivate students during class activities.

In addition to motivating learning, the new products will allow administrators to remotely and proactively manage their equipment to ensure optimal use, reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs, and extend product shelf-life. This will make resources last longer and ultimately allow for school budgets to be spent in a more effective manner. As resources and budget increases become leaner and harder to come by, products like these from Simtrol and Promethean will allow schools to stretch their budgets and provide the best for the children for whom they are responsible.

The CEO of Simtrol, Oliver Cooper commented on the alliance saying, “School systems will immediately benefit from our integrated device management capabilities that enable management of assets at the classroom, school, and district levels. We are excited to partner with a visionary company like Promethean to offer our device management expertise to improve the educational experience and help schools to reduce operating costs.”

Simtrol, Inc. (SMRL.OB) Upper Management Provides a Wealth of Experience
Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

Simtrol, Inc. (OTCBB: SMRL) is a developer of software solutions that assist enterprises in a wide array of markets to better manage technology assets, reduce associated operating costs, and improve the utilization of connected assets. The company’s solutions address connected devices that are performing at a low capacity within a network such as medical devices, interactive whiteboards, security cameras, digital signage displays, and DVRs. Their flagship product, Device Manager™, powers enterprise-wide solutions that manage non-traditional connected devices in markets such as retail and hospitality, education, and healthcare.

Mr. Oliver M. Cooper III, Simtrol’s President and CEO, joined the company in May of this year. Mr. Cooper has accumulated more than 25 years of experience managing high-growth technology companies, both public and private. He was the acting COO at Manhattan Associate, Inc. (NASDAQ: MANH) where he managed the company’s successful initial public offering and sales growth, from $14.0 million to $82.0 million, as the company’s workforce grew from 180 to 670 employees. He held the same position at Neovest, Inc., a software provider offering solutions for financial services firms, until the company was fully acquired by JP Morgan. Mr. Cooper has also held senior level management positions in operations, sales and business development at several Fortune 500 companies.

Bringing with him more than 20 years of operational experience with technology and software companies is William G. Joyce, Executive Vice President of Operations for Simtrol. Mr. Joyce was also a key contributor to the growth of Manhattan Associates, like his fellow Mr. Cooper, as the company grew from $14.0 million to $200 million during his tenure there. He joined Simtrol in March of 2007, and his most recent position was that of senior vice president for MARC Global Holdings, Inc., a company that offers worldwide professional services and customer support. Mr. Joyce’s academic background is impressive as he holds an engineering degree from Cornell University and an MBA from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management.

Matthew A. Finger, Simtrol’s Vice President of Marketing & Business Development, joined the company a couple of months after Mr. Joyce, in June of 2007. Mr. Finger spent seven years at Manhattan Associates where he implemented and sold complex software solutions across industries ranging from hi-tech to manufacturing. He was part of The Home Depot’s (NYSE: HD) business leadership program prior to accepting the position at Manhattan Associates.

Simtrol’s CFO and Secretary is Stephen N. Samp, who has been with the company since April 2002. A year prior to joining Simtrol’s upper management team, Mr. Samp served as an independent finance consultant. From March 1998 to February 2001, he served as vice president, CFO and secretary of eOn Communications (NASDAQ: EONC), a provider of unified voice, e-mail, and web-based communications systems and software.
