SPSC News Horne Engineering Awarded Contracts To Provide Technical and Management Support to Customs and Border Protection; Pending Award for Additional Work Expected To Increase Value to More Than $2 Million
FALLS CHURCH, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 19, 2005--Spectrum Sciences & Software Holdings Corp. (OTCBB:SPSC) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary Horne Engineering Services, LLC, has been awarded two task orders to support the operations of the Office of Asset Management in the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The combined value of the two awards, which extend through September 2006, is more than $1 million.
An agency within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), CBP is charged with managing, controlling, and protecting the nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. Its Office of Asset Management is responsible for the planning, budgeting, and execution of new construction and leasing, acquisition and installation of tactical infrastructure, and operation and maintenance of real property for the Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Detention and Removal Office, and other organizations within DHS.
Horne Engineering developed considerable experience and in-depth expertise regarding DHS facilities-related functions as a result of its previous work performing business process analyses and preparing management studies and after action reviews for senior officials within DHS. Under the two newly awarded task orders, the company is providing technical support services and assistance in the development and implementation of standard operating processes and procedures.
A third award, for an additional $1.2 million, is pending.
