TCPS News TechnoConcepts Files Provisional Patent Application for Circuit Designs to Reduce Amplifier Distortion
VAN NUYS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 16, 2006--TechnoConcepts Inc. (OTCBB:TCPS) today announced that it has filed a provisional patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for a proprietary innovation that dramatically reduces noise and distortion in high dynamic range RF amplifiers, enabling wireless devices to receive very weak radio signals.
"The Company continues to expand its existing patent portfolio covering direct conversion core technology, broadening the scope of our current patent protection. There are key patents that cover the receiver, transmitter and noise reduction comprised in the portfolio," said Antonio Turgeon, CEO and Chairman of TechnoConcepts. He added: "The Company believes that this new filing, based upon a combination of innovative ideas and processes, has the potential to give the Company an extremely broad basis of protection for direct conversion transceiver technology."
Ronald Hickling, Chief Technology Officer of TechnoConcepts, commented: "This is the first of a series of patents we expect to file on a number of key inventions for electronic circuits developed for our direct conversion RF/D(TM) receiver and D/RF(TM) transmitter chips."
This invention is part of TechnoConcepts' True Software Radio(TM), a wireless transmitter/receiver-on-a-chip that operates continuously across different frequency bands, controlled entirely by software. With True Software Radio(TM), the flexibility to communicate with and among incompatible cell phones, PDAs, laptop computers, and any other wireless device can be virtually limitless. True Software Radio(TM) can provide cost-effective interoperability, global roaming, and universal connectivity for wireless communications.
About TechnoConcepts
TechnoConcepts Inc. (OTCBB:TCPS) designs, develops and markets semiconductors. The Company has developed and patented True Software Radio(TM), a demonstrated technology that creates convergence for the wireless industry. True Software Radio(TM) chipsets can enable cell phones, PDAs, laptops, and other mobile devices with different radio frequencies, standards, and protocols to adjust by software command so that they can communicate directly with each other, across otherwise incompatible networks, without multiple radios. True Software Radio(TM) chipsets replace the Front End, I/F Processing, ADC, and Digital Filtering sections of digital radios. Because the technology simplifies design and reduces component costs, the Company believes that True Software Radio(TM) is the best platform for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) to develop new wireless broadband, mobile data, cellular, and other next-generation wireless applications.
