TCPS News TechnoConcepts Ground-Breaking Chips Enter Commercial Phase
VAN NUYS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TechnoConcepts, Inc. (OTCBB:TCPS), today announced the finalization of
the product datasheet that will serve as the baseline for the Company’s
initial commercial production run of its True Software Radio(TM)
wireless receiver and transmitter chips, targeted for delivery in the
first quarter of calendar year 2007, and the completion of the chips’
parametric characterization. The characterization process measured the
function and performance parameters of the True Software Radio(TM)
transmitter and receiver chips as they operated continuously across
multiple frequency bands. An Integration Toolkit, consisting of software
and an interface adapter with programmable logic, is being developed and
will be available to licensees in the first quarter of 2007 for product
integration, as well as for resale to interested parties. With the
achievement of these milestones, the Company will now increase its
efforts to commercialize its technology.
“The finalization of our product datasheet
makes it possible for developers to begin to integrate True Software
Radio(TM) into new wireless devices that can be completely controlled
and reconfigured by software commands,” said
Antonio Turgeon, chairman and CEO of TechnoConcepts. “We
believe that True Software Radio(TM) will be recognized as an
industry-changing technology and will be welcomed by the developers of
wireless communications devices.”
“Software radio”
refers to radios that can be controlled and reconfigured by software
commands and that can process radio signals digitally for better
performance. However, in today’s wireless
devices, only the radio signal processing (information interpretation)
can be performed digitally. Wireless transmitters and receivers still
utilize conventional analog circuitry based on technology first
developed in the early 1900s. The Company’s
True Software Radio(TM) technology makes it possible for wireless
transmitters and receivers also to be fully controlled and reconfigured
by software commands.
The Company’s patented and patent-pending
True Software Radio(TM) technology defines the electrical conductivity
of semiconductors and how the electrical conductivity is controlled, so
that wireless signals are converted directly into digital data by the
radio receiver and are converted directly from digital data into
wireless signals by the radio transmitter. The Company believes that
direct conversion radio technology will replace existing conventional
analog transceiver circuitry, providing wireless devices that can
operate across different networks and in multiple modes. For example, a
True Software Radio(TM) device could be capable of providing cellular
and Wi-Fi services simultaneously – then
WiMax services could be added later through a simple software upgrade.
TechnoConcepts’ first True Software Radio(TM)
chips are specifically designed for cellular base station, automotive,
and other applications.
About TechnoConcepts Inc.
TechnoConcepts (OTCBB:TCPS) designs, develops and markets semiconductors
for wireless communications. The Company has developed and patented True
Software Radio(TM), a proprietary technology that creates convergence
for the wireless industry. True Software Radio(TM) chipsets are designed
to enable cell phones, PDAs, laptops, and other mobile devices with
different radio frequencies, standards, and protocols to adjust by
software command so that they can communicate directly with each other,
across otherwise incompatible networks, without multiple radios. True
Software Radio(TM) chipsets replace the front end, I/F processing, ADC,
and digital filtering sections of digital radios. Because the technology
simplifies design and reduces component costs, the Company believes that
True Software Radio(TM) is an ideal platform for original equipment
manufacturers (OEMs) and original design manufacturers (ODMs) to develop
new wireless broadband, mobile data, cellular, and other next-generation
wireless applications.
