USTT News USA Technologies' e-Port(TM) Expands into Another New Market by Credit Card Enabling Solar Angel
MALVERN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 26, 2005--USA Technologies' (OTCBB:USTT) e-Port(R) cashless transaction technology is once again expanding into a new and emerging cashless market - Spray lotion booths, courtesy of Solar Angel.
Solar Angel, with its' patented technology, anticipates installing upwards of 500 spray suntan lotion booths in hotels and resorts this year, all activated by the e-Port wireless technology.
The news comes less than a week after USA Technologies announced that Range Servant America, the world's leading manufacturer of quality golf range products, had chosen e-Port to activate its golf ball dispensing machines at golf clubs and driving ranges across North America.
"We are seeing an increase of interest in e-Port to activate traditional vending machines that dispense beverages and snacks to higher priced items such as stationary supplies, cellular phones and gourmet foods," said John McLaughlin, Vice President, Sales, USA Technologies. "The convenience and simplicity of the e-Port is now opening up new self-serve opportunities, such as Sony PictureStation kiosks that copy and print digital photos, and Range Servant's golf ball dispensing machine, and that's just the beginning of an increasing number of new markets we are expanding into and should be announced in the weeks ahead," he said.
"Our Solar Angel spray lotion booths quickly attracted the leisure industry's attention, and we quickly realized that customers would want the convenience of paying with their debit or credit card," said Ryan Johnson, President, Solar Angel. "We researched the cashless industry and determined that USA Technologies was the leader in wireless debit/credit card technology and that e-Port met all our needs," he said.
USA Technologies' e-Port will provide debit and credit card transactions as well as provide Solar Angel with real-time sales reporting, allowing the machines to be available to customers on demand. The e-Port technology operates on Cingular wireless and the transaction cost will automatically be deposited in the booth operator's business account.
Customers using Solar Angel activate the service with a debit/credit card, step into the booth, press a button and in a matter of seconds they are sprayed with a fine mist of suntan lotion of their choice over their complete body. After they exit, an automatic wash cycle cleans the booth and pumps all excess out of a base pan into a waste reservoir.
"The traditional global vending industry is a 40 billion dollar cash based industry, with almost limitless opportunity for dispensing non traditional offerings, and many in the industry are discovering our e-Port technology is giving them competitive edge," said Mr. McLaughlin.
Solar Angel reports that the booths are anticipated to generate new revenue streams for hotels and resorts. The company already has booths offering the service at locations in Florida.
