Pixiem, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Win Win Gaming, Inc. (OTCBB:WNWN), announced the launch of Wimbledon's first officially licensed cell phone tennis game, "Wimbledon 2005," in North America and Europe through lead mobile carriers Verizon and Cingular.
"Wimbledon 2005" was developed under license from the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club Ltd. ("All England Tennis Club"), the organizer of the annual Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships. Included in the exclusive three-year licensing deal are performance goals and revenue sharing based on royalties.
"Wimbledon 2005" offers a realistic virtual tennis experience for cell phone players. Players can adjust the velocity of their serves, attack the net, and add spin to their shots. "Wimbledon 2005" also offers four levels of increasing difficulty starting with Club Challenge, moving up to Open Crown, then Royal Cup, and ending with The Wimbledon Championship.
Rob McCowen, Marketing Director of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, said: "We are very happy with the quality and playability of the Wimbledon 2005 cell phone game created by Pixiem. The game graphics are authentic, and the play options are both entertaining and challenging. Pixiem did an excellent job in capturing the Wimbledon experience for the wireless medium."
Win Win Gaming Chief Executive Officer Patrick Rogers commented: "We are very pleased to deliver a cell phone game that represents the quality and prestige of the Wimbledon tennis championship.
"'Wimbledon 2005' is also the first of a number of new major-brand licensed games we are planning to launch in 2005," Rogers continued, "and we expect to see revenue from this and other planned game launches by fourth quarter this year. Sports is one of the most popular categories for wireless media, and, over the next several months, we plan to launch several mobile games for our major sports and entertainment partners."
To promote "Wimbledon 2005," the All England Tennis Club and Pixiem are sponsoring the "Wimbledon Mobile Great Give Away" sweepstakes. Two drawings will be held during the next year, and winners will receive all-expenses-paid trips for two to the Wimbledon tournament in 2006.
