Xechem International, Inc. (Xechem) is a holding company for Xechem, Inc, a development-stage biopharmaceutical company engaged in the research, development and limited production of niche generic drugs from natural sources. Its particular focus is the development of therapeutic agents based on traditional plant medicines, especially based on the folklore of India and the People's Republic of China. It has selected over 2,000 natural products, extracts, semi-synthetic and synthetic compounds for further research and development in the areas of anticancer, antiviral (including acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS)) and anti-inflammatory, anti-infective, cholesterol-lowering, and anti-aging/anti-senescence agents. All of these extracts and pure compounds are undergoing early stages of laboratory screening for activity against cancer, AIDS and infections or other conditions.
