AGHG News AGHG Affiliate Supercritical Thermal System, Inc. Now Testing Advanced 2 Hour Version of its Air Mobility Pack Designed for NASA Kennedy Space Center; Air Mobility Pack for Use in Tunnels, Subways, Mine Fires or Rescue Operations
ESCONDIDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 15, 2006--Asgard Holdings Inc. (Pink Sheets:AGHG) is pleased to announce, their affiliate Supercritical Thermal Systems, Inc. is now testing an advanced two hour version of their Supercritical Air Mobility Pack (SCAMP(R)). The unit provides over 120 minutes of breathing air and full body cooling for the user.
This advanced technology was developed for NASA Kennedy Space Center for use by their propellant handling personnel. These workers must spend up to two hours in fully enclosed protective suits when loading toxic fuels or oxidizers such as hydrazine and nitrogen tetroxide.
This is a further development of the one-hour system now undergoing the final pre-test before submission to the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for approval. The new advanced Air Mobility Pack will allow the worker to double their safe breathing time while operating in an impermeable suit in Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health (IDLH) conditions. This technology will also eliminate the worker from suffering heat related disabilities such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
Other uses for the two-hour systems include tunnel, subway or mine fires or rescue operations. The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) require a minimum of a two hour breathing apparatus for entry into a tunnel fire/rescue situation. Right now that requirement is met by rebreather units that provide breathing air but no body or respiratory cooling. Heat stress related medical problems are common. The SCAMP(R) two-hour unit would meet the federal requirements and eliminate the heat stress problems.
"This is one more indication of our ability build and test cutting-edge technology for our government, states and towns," said Virgil Williams, CEO of Asgard Holdings, Inc.
