GLOW News Sixth Largest Beverage Distributor Chooses Glowpoint for Video Communications Solution to Connect With Business Partners
HILLSIDE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Glowpoint, Inc. (OTC:GLOW.PK),
a leading broadcast-quality, IP-based video-managed service provider,
announced that one of the nation's largest wholesale distributors of
wine, spirits, and malt beverage products has contracted with Glowpoint
for managed video service in nine locations across the nation. Ranked as
the sixth largest distributor with offices in 13 states, they saw the
tremendous value in leveraging video communications for collaboration,
both internally and with other business partners. Specifically, this new
Glowpoint customer wants to improve communications with another
distribution company that expanded its use of Glowpoint services in
October.
The new customer initially had two locations on a paid pilot and quickly
expanded by adding seven sites this month. The Glowpoint service offers
them fully-managed, feature-rich connectivity for IP video
communications with access to many unique services as part of an overall
bundled solution.
Michael Brandofino, president and CEO of Glowpoint, citesMetcalfe’s
Law: “The power and value of a network
increases exponentially by the number of systems connected to it.
Therefore, every system added to the network both uses it as a resource
while adding resources in a spiral of increasing value and choice.”
“The fact that one of the reasons this
customer selected Glowpoint was because a partner was already on
Glowpoint, seems to support this theory,” said
Brandofino. “We have seen this pattern of ‘referral’
interest in Glowpoint expand in the last few quarters. As we win deals
in specific market segments, other companies in that market space become
aware of Glowpoint, opening the door for new opportunities.”
