Retail Pro and Oracle Expand Relationship for Oracle Database and Announce New Retail Pro BI Powered by Oracle BI

 

Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) and Retail Pro (OTC: IPIN), a leading provider of SMB specialty retail systems for Point-of-Sale and Merchandising, today, announced a long-term agreement to embed Oracle’s best-in-class database and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions within Retail Pro. The license agreement includes licensing Oracle’s database and Oracle BI for Retail Pro’s entire existing customer base of 9,000+ customers, operating in more than 30,000 stores in 75 countries around the world as well as a five-year term to license the solutions to new customers.

Retail Pro’s solutions are mission critical for its customers which range from single store retailers to very large multinational luxury store chains. A world-class database solution that could deliver unparalleled reliability, security and zero administration simplicity for both small customers and the ultimate in high availability and scalability for its largest customers was needed. By joining the Retail Pro application with the Oracle database, Retail Pro is now able to provide incredible value with a true “entry to enterprise” solution.

In evaluating potential partners for its BI solution, Retail Pro found that Oracle again stood apart from the crowd. With Oracle BI, Retail Pro will be providing a solution that delivers tremendous power in an easy-to-use embedded BI module. This is revolutionary in the SMB specialty retail solutions sector, and Retail Pro expects it to be a primary differentiator from the competition. Retail Pro with its embedded Oracle database is on track for its scheduled general release by the end of 2007. Retail Pro Business Intelligence, powered by Oracle BI (formerly Siebel Analytics) is expected to be released to Beta in the first quarter of 2008.
