PLFM News Platforms Wireless Introduces New Cellular Communications System for Rapid Response to Natural or Man-Made Disasters

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Platforms Wireless International Corporation (Pink Sheets:PLFM) (www.plfm.net), today released details of its new cellular communications system for rapid deployment to natural or man-made disasters, and other commercial and military applications.

The Rapid Response Emergency Communications System™ (“RECOM-911™”) is a new product application of the Company’s Airborne Relay Communications (“ARC”) System proprietary core technology. The RECOM-911™ System is a transportable, airborne wireless cellular communications system designed for rapid response/deployment to natural or man-made disaster locations. The System can be ISO containerized and transported to a disaster location by trailer truck, cargo plane, helicopter, or ship, and be fully operational within four to six hours of its arrival at the incident location. RECOM-911 is capable of functioning as a self-sufficient, independent telecommunications System or it can interconnect to the Public Switched Telephone Network (“PSTN”) via fiber, microwave, or satellite link. The System operates at an altitude of 3,500 feet above mean sea level, uses commercial off-the-shelf handsets, provides coverage to a 70-mile radius, and can service 50,000 to 80,000 users, depending on bandwidth availability, antennae configurations, and the particular wireless communication protocol. The RECOM-911 System can also be equipped with a fully articulating, wireless video surveillance and recording camera.

On September 29, 2006, following several months of comprehensive testing and validation of the GSM Radio Frequency Sub System of the RECOM-911™ System, which included the successful processing of multiple and simultaneous cellular telephone calls, the System successfully completed RF certification tests at the anechoic test chamber in San Diego, California, operated by Alliant Techsystems, Inc. (NYSE:ATK). The independent certification confirms that the System is qualified to process GSM cellular telecommunications traffic and control signaling, on an independent, self-sufficient basis, using standard commercial off-the-shelf handsets.

Additional information on the RECOM-911™ System can be found on the Platforms Wireless web site at www.plfm.net
