RZ News Raser Vice President to Speak in Panel Discussion on PHEVs at the Electric Drive Transportation Association Conference
WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Raser Technologies, Inc. (NYSE Arca: RZ) (“Raser”),
a technology licensing company established to develop and license
advanced electric motor, controller and related technologies, announced
today that it will be exhibiting at the Electric Drive Transportation
Association’s (EDTA) Conference & Exposition
2006 in Washington, D.C. November 28-30.
Raser Vice President of Marketing, David West, will join a panel of
experts, including Bob Graham from the Electric Power Research
Institute, to give an Industry Status Report on Plug in Hybrid Vehicles
beginning at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2006, at the Hyatt Regency
Washington.
Keynote speakers at the Conference include Jim Press, President of
Toyota Motor Corporation America, John Bryson, Chairman, President & CEO
of Edison International, Alexander Karsner, Assistant Secretary for
Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) and North Dakota Senator
Byron Dorgan.
Raser will be exhibiting its automotive line of technology, including
the new P-100 motor design, the award winning P-50 Integrated Starter
Alternator (ISA) and the new high power, high efficiency brushless
alternator technology for the first time in the U.S. at the EDTA
conference. The P-100 is designed to deliver the higher power and
economy required by the new electric dominant hybrid vehicles such as
plug-in hybrids, fuel cell and all electric vehicles. In addition to
exhibiting its technology, Raser executives will be meeting with
government and industry leaders to build support for hybrid vehicle
development and tax incentives.
The conference includes several events dedicated to plug-in hybrid
electric vehicles (PHEVs), including a special luncheon on Plug in
Hybrid Electric Vehicles and the Infrastructure of the Future, and
two workshop sessions on PHEVs lead by industry experts.
“In addition to offering advanced automotive
motor technology, Raser works closely with leading industry associations
such as the EDTA and the Hybrid Consortium, to help build a strong
unified voice to foster government support and funding for hybrid,
electric and fuel cell vehicles,” said David
West, Vice President of Marketing for Raser.
Raser’s AC induction based technology,
recently awarded the Drive System Technology Innovation of the Year
Award by Frost & Sullivan, achieves its high performance through
advancements in motor control software and motor design, without
requiring the use of permanent magnets. It is designed to offer
automakers and their suppliers the performance and form factors
comparable to PMSM-based systems, but provide the economy and
reliability of the AC induction based platform. This cost-effective
alternative can help automakers reduce costs and improve reliability to
bring next generation hybrids more within reach of mainstream consumers.
“Utility and electric power companies will
play an increasingly significant role in delivering the energy needed
for tomorrow’s hybrid vehicles," added Raser
Chief Executive Officer Brent M. Cook. "Raser’s
Well-to-WheelsRenewable Energy Strategy offers a
strategic balance of clean renewable electric power from geothermal
sources and advanced electric motor and generator technology for the new
electric dominant vehicles.”
